Meet our guest: As far as vegan cookbook authors go Dreena Burton is one of the originals! Vegan for 25 years, Dreena is also mom to three “weegans.” She has charted her journey as a plant-based cook and mother of three through five bestselling cookbooks.

In addition to her own amazing cookbooks, Dreena created recipes for Dr. Neal Barnard’s books The Cheese Trap and Cookbook for Reversing Diabetes

Dreena’s recipes have been featured with groups including PCRM (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine), Forks Over Knives, Blue Zones, and The Food Network. She was also the Culinary Coordinator for The Food Revolution Network’s Whole Life Club.

“Sometimes we forget and fall into our routines. And food is totally a habit. Food is a learned habit. Our diet is very much a learned skill that we build over time and we grow with. We change, and we may start cooking with new ingredients. Or maybe we have a food allergy that comes up from time to time, and then we have to start using different foods because we are consuming one thing for a long time and our body’s resisting it.”
