One of the hardest things to do for your business is find a rhythm to continuously propel it forward. Sure, you can send a newsletter once in awhile, or post on social media, or do a webinar, and feel like you’re doing good things to promote your vegan biz. But the truth is that it’s the ongoing work, the continuity of workflow, the DISCIPLINE that takes you from idea to success.
You might know what has to be done, but it’s actually DOING it, putting those building blocks in place, day after day, that can be challenging. And in reality, you can have the best PLAN in the world, but if you and/or your team are not acting on it, let’s face it: it’s not going to happen, and your business will stagnate.
So, what am I saying? You, the leader, are the key. Do you have the skills you need to roll out your business plan successfully? Or do those plans get made and stuffed in the back of a drawer somewhere?
If that has happened to you and your business, the purpose of this article is not to make you feel bad about it. In fact, it’s just the opposite. It’s a call to become empowered! You must be able to recognize where things may have gone sideways, to identify what skills you need to develop, and to get that done, so that moving into the future, you will truly be able to move forward, and start witnessing some of that VP that you have worked so hard to achieve.
There are plenty of things in our businesses that we can’t control: the weather, competition, sometimes family or personal issues that come up. But there are things you can control. You can control your skill development. You can control the discipline it takes to recognize where you might be falling short, and you can take the steps to fix it.
To start this process of accountability to yourself and your business, I want you to think about this question: What skills are you lacking that are keeping you from getting the results you deserve?
